We are mindful of the mouth and it's relationship to the whole body. The mouth plays a vital role in our overall health and being as it moves to support breathing, swallowing, and communication. The mouth doesn't operate in isolation, however works synergistically as part of a whole body system for optimal health. As a result, we partner with other practitioners to treat the whole person as needed. Brooke draws on her many years of varied experiences in the Speech-Language field over the last 22 years working with clients from birth to adulthood, as well as motherhood, in evaluating, treating, and coaching individuals and families with speech, feeding, and myofunctional therapy needs. She looks at the whole individual and family unit in considering treatment options. From her early career at Rady's Children's Hospital, to in-home practice in Guam with clients 2-85, and Early Intervention 0-3 in Virginia, she has learned to adapt her treatment style to be most developmentally appropriate for the client she is serving. She can be found laying on a floor playing ball, blowing bubbles, hands in sensory bins or covered with food for one session, playing boardgames or shooting hoops in the next, or sitting across a desk or at the family table in another. Mindful Moves provides services in the home, school, or other community location. We do offer services in a clinical office setting for those who prefer. Finally, virtual coaching and treatment is also available for those at a distance or who prefer it in California and Washington State. At Mindful Moves we want to see you thrive!
We offer the above services. In addition, Brooke is happy to come provide in-services or lunch and learns for allied health providers to educate them regarding Oromyofunctional therapy, oral posture and oral development, and the benefits of OMT for their clients.
Brooke is happy to come to your home to review how to support your child with oral development and feeding, sign language with babies and toddlers, and how to talk with, play with, and read to your child to support language development and speech.
